As a non-profit organization, AFICE is dedicated to fostering international understanding through basic human contact at the family level. We believe that by making personal contacts, our students and families are promoting much more than a single student exchange. Because every student and every family comes into contact with a multitude of other people, and the connections made through these human interactions are the basis for deep and ongoing relationships. And when there are personal relationships, it becomes far more possible for diverse human cultures to understand and accept each other.
With understanding comes tolerance, acceptance, and, yes, peace.
Unfortunately, AFICE's main source of income is the fees we charge to our student participants. Student fees fund everything we do -- supervision of students, advertising, communications, fees paid to the US Government, State agencies, and some local school districts. Not to mention keeping the lights on at our small national office.
Your contribution will enable AFICE to keep the fees we charge to our students at the same level, to train new field staff, and to expand our advertising to reach new potential families. In short, you will be helping to promote international understanding.

Please note: American Express will deduct a transaction fee of 2.25% from your donation to cover processing costs. The charities will receive your donation amount, minus the 2.25% American Express processing fee, from our partner JustGive. This transaction fee is similar to or less than the processing fee the charity would pay if you were to charge your donation with your American Express Card through any other means (i.e., over the phone to the charity, through the charity's website, etc.). You will not be charged any additional fees for using the American Express Donation Site and your dollar donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
